Waythrough was formed in 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Together, we’ve created one of the largest mental health and social support charities in England. Every year, we support around 125,000 people through nearly 200 services – and it’s all made possible by our 3,500 brilliant staff and volunteers.

Make a real difference in your community

Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.

About the service:

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Service Manager to lead The Greens, our 21-bed abstinence-based recovery housing project, providing 24-hour support to people committed to building and sustaining their recovery. The service offers a safe, structured and supportive environment where residents can develop the skills, confidence and resilience needed to move on to independent living. Recently, the service has expanded to include two specialist detox/stabilisation beds, delivered in partnership with our treatment providers at Likewise. Every resident at The Greens has made the decision to pursue abstinent recovery. Your role is to create the environment, culture and leadership that helps them succeed.

About the role:

As Service Manager, you will:

  • Provide operational leadership to a dedicated staff team, ensuring the service is safe, effective and person-centred. You will oversee day-to-day operations, lead and develop staff, and manage quality and performance. You will promote safeguarding and risk management, ensure compliance with housing legislation and work collaboratively with partners to achieve the best possible outcomes for residents.
  • Develop and implement a business plan for your services in conjunction with senior management.
  • Manage the budgets attached to your services in conjunction with Waythrough’s Finance Team ensuring that financial targets are met.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to develop and expand Waythrough’s services in line with the Regional/Area Business Plans.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
