Service Manager
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: Up to £40,170 per annum
Hours: 35hrs per week

Brownswood is a well-established, specialist residential care home providing expert support for 9 adults with acquired brain injuries and complex neurological conditions. As a smaller service, Brownswood offers a warm, person-centred environment where individuals are supported to maximise their independence, achieve personal goals and enjoy a high quality of life. Through a neurobehavioral approach and dedicated multidisciplinary team, the service delivers high-quality rehabilitation, long-term care and community-focused support tailored to each individual's needs.
We welcome applications from experienced care leaders, including those who have recently achieved their Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification and are ready to take the next step into a Service Manager role. We would also be delighted to hear from established managers seeking a return to a full-service management position within a supportive, well-established setting.
Main Purpose
- To take overall responsibility for the effective management of all aspects of the service, thereby ensuring the provision of the highest quality standards of specific care and treatment, driven by the needs of the individual.
- To lead, manage and direct a multidisciplinary team in the attainment of aims and objectives linked to Brainkind Strategic Plan and the needs of the individual.
- To meet full compliance in line with the requirement of the regulatory body and relevant legislation. To obtain and successfully maintain registration as Registered Manager for the service with CQC.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate professional leadership and provide ‘hands on’ management support and guidance, managing staff activities and influencing their practices and attitudes.
- Assume line management responsibilities for the senior management team and lead clinicians where appropriate, to provide operational support and direction. Ensuring that performance standards are identified and met. Take responsibility for setting and monitoring of budgets, capital, and revenue, within location. Ensuring agreed staffing levels are adhered to unless authorised in writing as exception.
- Take overall responsibility for recruitment, employment and working practices, complying with Employment Law and contractual obligations. To include the provision of Induction, training, and support as required in respect of the statutory responsibilities of the service and Brainkind, with particular emphasis on our aims, values, and high-performance standards. This includes the planning and management of annual leave of all staff designations to always ensure the safe running of the service.

About You
We are looking for:
- QCF (NVQ) Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification in Social Care/Health
- In-depth knowledge of statutory requirements such as Care Quality Commission regulations and outcomes.
- 5 years’ experience of managing registered care homes.
- Valid UK Driving Licence.
