Service Manager (Specialist Service)

Service Manager (Specialist Service) Location: Gloucester Contract: 37.5 hours per week Shift Patterns: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, with an expectation of flexibility to meet the needs of the service. Evening and weekend work may be required. On‑Call: First‑line on‑call, 1 week in every 4 Pay rate: £36,000 Prosperity Care & Wellbeing is a dynamic and innovative provider looking at the 8 principles of wellbeing for health, social care and wellbeing services based in the centre of Gloucester. What will the Specialist Service Manager role look like for you? As a Service Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and oversight of our specialist supported living services. You will support individuals with complex needs, including challenging behaviour, and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). Our services operate within structured and, where necessary, restrictive environments to ensure safety, stability, and wellbeing for both individuals and staff. You will ensure these environments are therapeutic, proportionate, and legally compliant, balancing risk management with dignity, choice, and person-centred care. You will lead teams to deliver consistent, high-quality support, embedding PBS approaches, maintaining clear routines, and ensuring restrictive practices are used appropriately, reviewed regularly, and only when necessary. Safeguarding, quality assurance, and staff development will be central to your role, alongside creating environments where individuals can live safely, meaningfully, and with respect. What we are looking for in a Service Manager We genuinely seek people who care deeply and are truly committed to transforming lives. Due to the nature of this role, you will need to have/be: Proven experience in a leadership role within the supported living or social care sector. Experience of working in Specialist or equivalent services. Experience of working in or knowledge of the Mental Health Act. A deep understanding of person-centred care and a commitment to upholding the dignity and rights for the people we support. Ability to work in high pressured and physically challenging environments. Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills. A full UK manual licence (held for 1+ year) and access to a vehicle for community visits. Knowledge of CQC regulations and experience of implementing this in service. Level 5 Health and Social care/equivalent or willing to work towards.
