Service Manager - Supported Living

Head of Services – Mental Health, Learning Disabilities & Autism

Location: UK Salary: £40,000

The Role

Position: Head of Services Base: Majority of the working week within your allocated service(s)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, and management across assigned service areas, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Collaborate closely with Heads of Department to shape the strategic direction of services.
  • Work with leadership to develop, implement, and refine objectives, targets, and operational policies.
  • Oversee quality assurance, compliance, and regulatory adherence (CQC, health & social care legislation).
  • Evaluate support outcomes and make data-driven adjustments in partnership with Area Managers and PBS Leads.
  • Lead, mentor, and support Team Leaders and Support Workers to maintain excellence in service delivery.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with local authorities for referrals and client engagement.
  • Monitor team performance, regulatory compliance, and ongoing service improvement.

Person Specification

Experience & Qualifications

  • Preferred:
    • QCF Level 5 in Leadership & Management
    • Registered Manager Award or NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care
  • Essential:
    • Proven managerial experience in health or social care
    • Strong understanding of CQC regulations, care legislation, and best practice standards
