Service Manager – Caernarfon, Gwynedd

About the Role

Job Title: Service Manager

Location: Caernarfon, Gwynedd

Hours: 37 hours per week (including weekend shifts)

Salary: £34,416 per year, sleep-in shift compensation of £60 per night, and 55p per mile reimbursement for travel expenses

Contract: Permanent

Who You Are and What You’ll Do

The Service Manager owns the day-to-day operations of two support services, each supporting six individuals with diverse passions and needs. This role is focused on ensuring people receive personalised, independent, and fulfilling support through motivation and proactive service development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Lead with motivational direction to ensure high-quality, person-centred support and independence for those you serve.
    • Build trust, open communication, and strong stakeholder relationships across all levels of the organisation.
    • Champion the organisation’s vision and values in day-to-day operations.

  • Operational Excellence:

    • Conduct regular reviews of support plans, including:
      • Service delivery plans
      • Individualised support plans
      • Progress logs
      • Risk assessments
    • Follow person-centred and relationship-centred Active Support principles in all assessments.
  • Team Management and Development:

    • Oversee a team of support workers, ensuring effective coordination across all team-based responsibilities.
    • Foster a culture of creative problem-solving and growth, empowering staff to deliver exceptional care.
  • Focus on Impact:

    • Prioritise maximising independence and well-being for individuals supported by your service.

About You – Qualifications & Experience

This role is right for you if you have:

  • Experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting
  • A Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care (or currently working towards/willing to obtain)
  • A strong, genuine concern for enabling others to thrive and fulfil their potential
  • Outstanding communication skills – adaptable and influential
  • Familiarity with the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice
  • Flexibility to work shifts and cover as required
  • Welsh language skills or willingness to learn for cultural/linguistic inclusivity with Welsh-speaking individuals
