Service & PDI Technician
Service & PDI Technician – Join the Team at Maeving
About Maeving
We're Maeving, and we build Britain's best-selling electric motorcycles right here in Coventry. Our first bike, the RM1, became the best-reviewed electric motorcycle in the country. Our second, the RM1S, won 'Best Urban Electric Motorcycle'* ahead of BMW and Kawasaki. Not bad for a company that started just four years ago with two mates in a flat.
About This Role
Every bike we sell passes through your hands before it reaches a customer. Your job is to:
- Ensure every bike is fully inspected and ready for customers.
- You’re the last person to verify a bike before someone rides it home—this means you play a critical role in making sure they fall in love with it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The work varies—but not the responsibility. Some days include:
- Final checks and fitting accessories on brand new bikes.
- Conducting test rides to ensure brakes, steering, and ride feel perfect.
- Inspecting and servicing bikes—whether in our Covery-based facility or on-site during field visits.
- Keeping meticulous records to log every job properly.
What We Need from You
While experience in high-level automotive mechanics isn’t required, you’ll need:
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- The physical strength to safely load, transport, and handle motorcycles.
- Confidence in using workflow tracking apps to manage jobs.
If you've got experience with:
- Motorcycle inspection (especially electric bikes).
- Even just a good understanding of two-wheeled mechanics—bonus points!
