Service Planning Process and Data Lead

About the Role

The Service Planning Process and Data Lead is responsible for leading the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of global service planning processes, Kinaxis capability, and master data quality across VSS service supply chains.

The role focuses on:

  • Improving planning capability
  • Driving best-practice adoption
  • Resolving master data issues through root cause analysis
  • Enabling effective process change across global stakeholders for enhanced supply chain performance

Role Overview

With a global scope, this role supports:

  • Service planning process improvement
  • Kinaxis capability development
  • Master data quality enhancement
  • Deployment of best practices across VSS global service supply chains

The position engages with planning, service logistics, supply chain, IT, data owners, operational teams, regional stakeholders, and business division representatives to:

  • Enhance planning capability
  • Improve process consistency
  • Ensure data accuracy
  • Promote system adoption

The lead will:

  • Identify and resolve planning and master data issues that impact supply chain performance.
  • Conduct root cause analysis across planning systems such as SAP and Kinaxis.
  • Influence key stakeholders to implement corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project-based activity and process improvement.
  • Provide business-as-usual support.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement, training, and documentation.
  • Conduct performance analysis.
  • Support global stakeholders through activities like workshops, project milestones, and system deployments (flexible working hours may apply).
  • Maintain, support, and resolve Power BI reports and dashboards used in service planning, ensuring reporting accuracy, reliability, and fit-for-use decision-making.

  • Driving consistent service planning processes across global organizations with varying maturity levels.
  • Improving Kinaxis adoption and planning capability among diverse stakeholders.
  • Addressing master data issues across supply chain systems to mitigate operational disruptions.
  • Influencing process and data ownership where authority may be limited.
  • Ensuring best-practice processes are defined, embedded, and sustained across regions.
  • Supporting software change and advanced planning system deployment without disrupting business operations.
  • Translating complex data and system issues into clear business actions.
  • Managing communication with multi-cultural and multi-functional teams across time zones.

Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Typically 10+ years of relevant experience in:
    • Supply chain
    • Service logistics
    • Planning
    • Master data
    • Planning systems
  • Familiarity with world-class supply chain management principles (membership in professional bodies preferred).
  • Experience in supporting/leading process improvement, system deployment, or software change projects.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Advanced planning systems (preferably Kinaxis)
    • ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Proven ability to:
    • Analyze master data issues
    • Drive resolutions through cross-functional stakeholder engagement
  • International work experience is advantageous.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Service planning
    • Supply chain planning
    • Inventory management
    • Master data processes
  • Detailed knowledge of planning system data requirements, including:
    • Material master data
    • Planning parameters
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience with:
    • Power BI, Python, R, or other analytical tools (an advantage).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills for global teams.
  • Ability to create:
    • Clear process documentation
    • Work instructions
    • Training materials
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly:
    • Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI
  • Quick learner of new technologies, planning systems, digital solutions, and AI-enabled tools.
  • Self-starter and resourceful, with initiative to resolve issues and share progress.
