Location: Essex / East London (Office & Field Based)
Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)

Due to continued growth and an expanding service portfolio, PIP Lifts is looking to recruit an experienced Service Supervisor to join our operations team.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking company where your ideas are valued, your development is encouraged, and you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service while supporting a highly skilled team of lift engineers.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Service Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a portfolio of maintenance contracts and engineers, ensuring contractual compliance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

You will work closely with our administration, repairs, and technical teams to deliver industry-leading service levels while developing strong relationships with both customers and engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of lift service engineers across your allocated region.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to engineers.
  • Monitor engineer performance, productivity, and KPIs.
  • Ensure maintenance visits are completed in line with contractual requirements.
  • Manage breakdowns, entrapments, and customer escalations.
  • Review engineer reports and identify repair opportunities.
  • Carry out site audits, quality inspections, and engineer assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with LOLER, PUWER, BS EN 81, and company procedures.
  • Liaise with customers regarding technical issues and ongoing works.
  • Support engineer development through coaching, mentoring, and toolbox talks.
  • Work closely with the Service Operations Manager to continuously improve service delivery.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Proven experience within the lift industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge across a wide range of lift manufacturers.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Customer-focused approach.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

  • Previous supervisory or management experience.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of LOLER inspections and lift legislation.
  • Experience using service management systems.
