About the Role
We do things well and keep developing.
Are you a natural leader who has experience of supervising or managing a team? Do you enjoy administration, multi-tasking and have strong digital and communication skills?
We are looking for our first Service Support Team Leader who will lead the small friendly team that provides specialist operational, technical and administrative support across the Neighbourhoods service area. The Neighbourhood service covers Food Safety, Licensing, Environmental Protection, Anti-social Behaviour and Safeguarding, Planning Enforcement and Parking.
You and your team will play a key role in making sure our services run smoothly, efficiently and professionally — from effective triage, case management and data quality through to system administration, performance reporting, financial processes and enforcement support. You will also help drive digital improvement across the service, supporting better ways of working and helping teams make the most of technology.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
