Service Team Leader
Checkout Team Leader – Morrisons
Are you a natural leader, great customer assistant, or a social professional looking for career progression? If you have a helpful, friendly approach, enjoy meeting new people, and enjoy going above and beyond to serve customers, we’re looking for Checkout Team Leaders to lead our Service teams and drive performance forward.
Your Role as Checkout Team Leader
As a Checkout Team Leader, you will be the driving force behind our Checkout team. Your key responsibilities include:
- Being a visible presence across all front-end service operations, using headsets to quickly support colleagues and assist customers in completing their purchases efficiently.
- Leading a team committed to delivering outstanding, friendly, and helpful service to all customers.
- Creating an engaging, customer-centric department culture where colleagues actively contribute to improvement ideas.
- Building a supportive, performance-driven culture where achievements and contributions are recognised and rewarded.
- Confidently analysing dashboards and reports to:
- Optimise the front-end experience
- Root-cause issues
- Develop plans and implement corrective actions
- Ensuring all policies, procedures, and legal obligations (including cash handling) are followed as specified by the company.
- Coordinating and maintaining day-to-day communication across the front end, including:
- Cash.
- Petrol stations (where applicable).
- Kiosks.
- Customer service desks.
- Trolleys and car parc (where relevant).
- delegating and managing put-back tasks in a timely manner to minimise waste.

About You
Ideally, you will bring:
- The ability to build and maintain strong relations with colleagues and customers.
- Proven leadership experience, including:
- Developing and coaching teams.
- Fostering confidence and competence for high performance.
- A strong operational and technical understanding of Service departments.
- The capability to effectively plan, organise, and manage your workload and the teams under your direction.
- Deadline management skills to meet strict timelines.
