Checkout Team Leader – Morrisons

We’re looking for Team Leaders to guide our Service teams and drive service excellence for our customers.
About the Role
As a Checkout Team Leader, you’ll be the driving force behind our Checkout team. Your responsibilities include:
- Be a visible presence across all front-end service operations, using headsets to support colleagues and assist customers in completing purchases quickly and efficiently
- Build a team that delivers outstanding, friendly, and helpful customer service
- Create an engaging workplace where colleagues are empowered to keep customers central to everything they do, actively encouraging contributions to improve service
- Foster a supportive, high-performance culture where achievements are recognised and rewarded
- Use dashboards and reports to optimise front-end operations by identifying issues, root-causing problems, developing action plans, and implementing corrections
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and legal obligations—particularly regarding cash handling
- Coordinate and facilitate daily front-end communication across cash, petrol stations (where applicable), kiosks, customer service desks, trolleys, and car parks, offering support where needed
- Minimise waste by effectively delegating put-back tasks

About You
The ideal candidate will bring:
- The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
- Experience in leading and coaching teams, helping colleagues grow in confidence and competence
- Strong operational and technical knowledge of our Service department
- Exceptional organisational and management skills, including:
- Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workloads (including for direct reports)
- Capacity to meet strict deadlines
