What You Need to Know

We are seeking an experienced Service Technician at our Great Yarmouth facility to support the installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, and commissioning of subsea and topside control systems.

This role offers:

  • A varied and dynamic job with international travel
  • Hands-on technical work in offshore and onshore environments
  • Collaboration with Service Project Engineers, Test & Commissioning Engineers, and Technical Service Engineers
  • Support for global customers, from workshop-based activities to field duties

What We Are Looking For

Key Accountabilities

Service Delivery

  • Execute installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, and support activities for subsea and topside systems in alignment with approved procedures, safety standards, and client requirements.
  • Travel globally to support installations, maintenance, integrity tests, commissioning, and aftermarket service activities.
  • Independently lead installation and planned maintenance routines (PMR) where competent and authorised.
  • Perform integrity testing, including:
    • Tubing pressure testing
    • Flushing
    • Leak testing
    • Mechanical, hydraulic, and electricalwork (as applicable)
  • Assist Test & Commissioning Engineers with commissioning, integration testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, risks, and deviations, communicating solutions to affected teams.
  • Ensure safe, high-quality execution while representing Proserv professionally.

Workshop & Equipment Support

  • Support refurbishment, testing, maintenance, and equipment mobilisation in the workshop.
  • Conduct inspections, repairs, and tests on client-owned equipment, documenting findings accurately.
  • Maintain service tooling, test equipment, and workshop assets.
  • Assist with equipment surveys, inventory verification, and other service tasks as required.

Client & Technical Support

  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients through technical competence, safety, and quality delivery.
  • Collaborate effectively with Project Engineers, Technical Engineers, Operations, and field teams.
  • Ensure transparent communication regarding work progress, challenges, and resource needs.
  • Share knowledge, support colleagues, and contribute to team objectives.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Produce accurate site reports, inspection reports, test procedures, and documentation.
  • Update and validate technical records to reflect jobs executed, test results, and observations.
  • Report as-built changes to engineering and accountability teams for reflective action.
  • Submit timesheets, expense claims, and compliance reports promptly.
  • Participate in pre-mobilisation briefings, post-job debriefs, and lessons-learned discussions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to process optimisation, safety enhancements, and efficiency improvements.
  • Cascade lessons learned to inform future service delivery and training.
  • Ensure ongoing technical competence through training and competency assessments.
  • Meet required training and certification obligations.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Essential

  • NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds certification, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or relevant engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in the oil & gas, offshore energy, or industrial services sector.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, or instrumentation systems in installation, maintenance, or servicing.
  • Fieldwork in offshore environments, including installation, maintenance, and integrity tests.
  • Knowledge of subsea production control systems, topside control, or hydraulic power units.
  • Practical experience with tubing installation, pressure testing, flushing, and leak detection.
  • Ability to interpret hydraulic schematics, electrical drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
  • Exceptional communication and reporting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team.
  • Flexibility for international travel and short-notice mobilisation.
  • Valid full driving licence (for परिवहन under UK/EU mobility) and passport.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable

  • SBT Certification (Small Bore Tubing 01/02/03).
  • Offshore Survival and Basic Medics certification.
  • Experience in hazardous area environments.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Experience with commissioning and installation projects.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and digital reporting tools.
