Service Technician

Service Technician

We're looking for a hands-on Service Technician who enjoys solving technical problems, working directly with customers, and travelling to install, service and maintain industry-leading equipment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a global engineering business where you'll work with advanced technology, provide expert technical support, and play a key role in ensuring customers get the very best performance from their equipment.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Install, commission, service, and maintain customer equipment to the highest standard.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults, both remotely and on-site.
  • Provide customer training on the operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Carry out system testing and customer trials alongside the Sales and Applications teams.
  • Support customer acceptance testing by verifying specifications and optimising system performance.
  • Produce accurate service reports and technical documentation following customer visits.

What You'll Need

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND, Associate Degree, or equivalent qualification in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Experience & Skills

  • Ideally, 5+ years’ experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Technician, or in a similar role.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic/pneumatic schematics.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and industrial control interfaces would be advantageous.
  • Experience with installation, commissioning, servicing, and preventative maintenance of industrial equipment.
  • Confidence using diagnostic tools, test equipment, Microsoft Office, and, ideally, SAP.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach with the ability to work independently.
  • A full, valid driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
