Where Will You Work?

This Service Technician role focuses on supporting customers across Dudley, Walsall, and surrounding areas. When not directly engaging with clients, you’ll collaborate with your team in your office space.

Role Overview

The Service Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring customer equipment and installations remain in optimal condition—performing flawless maintenance, repairs, and service under contract. Your focus will be on maximising efficiency, improving customer experiences, and refining operational processes while maintaining the highest service quality.


Key Responsibilities

Customer & Technical

  • Diagnose faults in HVAC and commercial systems during on-site visits, maintaining awareness of all assigned projects.
  • Ensure high standards of service across:
    • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
    • Customer Breakdown Repairs
    • Warranty Work
    • Equipment Hire & Commissioning
  • Build strong, trusted customer relationships by acting as their key point of contact.
  • Collaborate closely with Service Desk, Sales, and Operations Teams to share critical insights and improve service delivery.
  • Utilise cutting-edge software, diagnostic tools, and technical specifications to troubleshoot and repair systems efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, and customers to keep projects on track.

Customer Relationships

  • Maintain transparency via regular progress updates for stakeholders, including updates on:
    • Completed invoiced work orders
    • Operational improvements
    • Sustained customer satisfaction trends

Internal Support & Administration

  • Maintain validation against experience and certification requirements as outlined below.
  • Support compliance efforts through adherence to company policies and reporting channels.

About The Role

Skills & Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Service or Field Technician in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of technical service processes and ability to follow engineering specifications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to act independently with minimal guidance to drive customer outcomes.
  • F-Gas Certification required—preferably with skilled trade certification (e.g., refrigeration/mechanical trades).
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and workplace operational efficiency.
  • Capable of standing, bending, lifting typical service equipment (tools, components).
  • UK Driver’s License essential—freedom to travel to customers within the region with company allocation of vehicle.
  • Confirmed Right to Work status in the UK.

Technical Proficiency

  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proven use of diagnostic tools and software, service technician CRM systems, and workflow management platforms.
  • Preference for manufacturing industry knowledge and controls troubleshooting (e.g., PLC, pipework, motors).
