Service Technician - Midlands Team - ICS Cool Energy Ltd

Service Technician – North West of England, UK

Position Overview

The Service Technician ensures the highest standards of support and maintenance for our customers’ climate systems. You’ll diagnose, repair, and optimise installed equipment, maximising efficiency and customer satisfaction. This role requires a proactive, customer-focused mindset and a willingness to embrace technology and continuous improvement.

We’re seeking candidates based in the North West of England, UK.


Key Responsibilities

Customer & Technical Operations

  • Troubleshooting & Repair
    • Diagnose system issues across assigned projects and customer sites, ensuring repairs align with installed specifications.
  • On-Site Work
    • Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), customer breakdowns, warranty repairs, hire work, and commissioning.
    • Maintain equipment performance according to contracted service agreements.
  • Customer Relations
    • Build and sustain strong relationships, acting as a trusted technical contact for customers.
    • Share insights with Service Desk, Sales, and Operations to enhance support strategies.
  • Technical Execution
    • Use cutting-edge diagnostic software, tools, and blueprints to repair HVAC systems efficiently.
  • Reporting & Compliance
    • Generate accurate, comprehensive reports on completed invoiced work orders.

Technical Accountability

  • Supervisor & Customer Updates
    • Communicate regularly with supervisors, regional managers, senior technicians, and customers to drive improvements.

Internal Controls & Administration

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven success in a service or field-based technician role.
  • Strong knowledge of customer service principles and problem-solving techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Technical Proficiencies

  • F-Gas certification required (essential for HVAC servicing).
  • Competency in diagnostic software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capable of working under pressure, including standby call-outs during weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays.
