Position Overview

The Service Technician is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical support.

This role plays a crucial role in delivering the highest standards of service in the most efficient manner to maintain customer plant and equipment as installed on-site, covering our maintenance and service contracts. The goal is to:

  • Maximise service technician productivity
  • Enhance the overall customer experience
  • Improve operational technical processes

We are actively seeking candidates from the North West of England, UK.


Key Responsibilities

Customer and Technical:

  • Diagnose system problems when servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and customer site visits.
  • Attend customer sites to complete:
    • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
    • Customer Breakdowns
    • Warranty work
    • Hire and Commissioning workloads
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a trusted point of contact.
  • Collaborate with the Service desk, Sales, and Operations Team to:
    • Establish strong communication channels.
    • Share key customer insights.
  • Utilise cutting-edge software and technology, alongside hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units.
  • Generate regular reports on completed, invoiced work orders.
  • Foster strong customer relationships through exceptional service.
  • Communicate updates with:
    • Supervisors
    • Regional Service Managers
    • Senior Technicians
    • Customers
    • Drive continuous improvement through constructive feedback.

Internal Controls and Administration:

  • Proven experience in a service or field-based technician role.
  • Strong knowledge of customer service principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, motivating technicians to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using:
    • Apps
    • Diagnostic software
    • Microsoft Office Suite

Skills and Capabilities

  • Knowledge of the manufacturing industry (an advantage).
  • Strong people and communication skills with a positive mindset.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Appropriate skilled-based certificates including F-Gas.
  • Ability to cover standby and call-outs on a planned, scheduled basis, including:
    • Weekdays
    • Weekends
    • Bank holidays
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid UK driving licence (company vehicle allocation).
  • Confirmed Right to Work status for the Country of application.
