Position: Service Technician

(Primary Representative for Customer Trust & Service Expertise)

Core Purpose

Provide exceptional customer service and technical support to ensure the highest standards of installation integrity, maintenance efficiency, and operational reliability—guarding equipment performance while amplifying customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Technical Support

  • Diagnostics & Problem-Solving
    • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control-system faults in assigned HVAC/R projects.
  • Onsite Work Execution
    • Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), emergency repairs, warranty claims, hire equipment commissioning, and startup procedures.
  • Customer Relationships
    • Represent Trane Technologies with the highest professionalism. Foster trust-based relationships and act as a direct, reliable technical point of contact.
  • Internal Collaboration Focus Areas
    • Align service desk, sales, and operational teams to share insights that enhance customer loyalty and retention.
  • Technical Proficiency
    • Employ cutting-edge software, diagnostic tools, and manual instrumentation—per engineering blueprints and specifications—to repair/overhaul units.
  • Reporting & Analysis
    • submit detailed invoice-ready work order summaries and reliability metrics.
  • Proactive Communications
    • Log project and site updates with leadership and customers to supported ongoing improvement cycles.

Internal Operations & Administrative Accountability

  • General GxP-compliant service discipline.
  • Prioritise unit performance aligned with contract guarantees and warranty policies.

Requirements

  • Relevant Experience
    • Proven professional history in service or field-based technician roles.
  • Customer & Technical Skills
    • ** Strong understanding of customer service principles** and root-cause engineering.
    • Demonstrated coaching ability to motivate teams toward excellence.
  • Communication Styles
    • Self-managing communicator with collaborative and analytical thinking skills.
  • Tool/Software Proficiency
    • Fluent in MS Office Suite, apps, and diagnostic software solutions.
  • Certification
    • Valid UK Driving License (company vehicles allocated).
    • F-Gas certification (or eligibility via company training pathway).
  • Reliability Requirements
    • Availability for unplanned overtime during weekday, weekend, and public holidays as assigned.
  • Compliance
    • Full right-to-work authorisation within your operational region/country.
