Service Writer
We're looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused service writer to join our team. You'll be the first point of contact for our valued customers, acting as a liaison between them and our mechanics. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy-duty trucks and RV(s), excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Pay: $24 - $30 Per Hour

Summary

Responsibilities
Job Description:
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, both in person and over the phone
- Actively listen to customer concerns and accurately assess repair needs
- Schedule service appointments and effectively communicate estimated timelines
- Create and manage repair orders, ensuring accurate information and clear communication with technicians
- Obtain customer authorization for repairs and provide detailed service cost estimates
- Provide regular updates to customers on the progress of their repairs
- Process payments and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the repair process
- Maintain accurate customer records and shop documentation
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a service writer role, preferably within the heavy-duty truck and RV industry
- Strong understanding of heavy-duty truck operation and repair procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building rapport and resolving customer concerns
- Proficient in computer skills, including experience with service management software (CDK or similar a plus) and Microsoft Suite
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and manage deadlines effectively
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
