The Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional, highly consultative ServiceNow professional for an initial 3 month contract to deliver a critical optimisation and enablement program for a high profile UK public sector end client on behalf of our consultancy.
This role bridges the gap between high level architectural strategy, workflow optimization, and hands-on Automated Test Framework (ATF) delivery. You will act as a trusted advisor, shifting seamlessly between technical execution and upskilling the client's internal team to ensure long term self-sufficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Working at the direction of the consultancy and the end client, your deliverables will span four core areas:
Automated Test Framework (ATF) Rollout
- Define and document a high level implementation plan and strategic approach for ATF.
- Provide the hands-on development expertise required to deliver and deploy the ATF suite into the Live environment safely.
Architectural Review and Best Practices
- Conduct a thorough health check of the current ServiceNow architecture, specifically focusing on Incident Management, Change Management, and Service Requests (including Property and HR Service Requests).
- Assess the Service Catalogue structure and overall usability, providing advisory and design support to align the platform with ServiceNow out-of-the-box (OOTB) best practices.

Backlog Optimization and AI Readying
- Review, prioritize, and optimize the existing development backlog.
- Identify immediate opportunities for workflow streamlining, SLA performance tuning, and cross-process automation.
- Provide strategic recommendations for incorporating AI capabilities into existing ServiceNow workflows to improve platform scalability and maintainability.
Knowledge Transfer and Governance
- Deliver structured knowledge transfer sessions to key client stakeholders.
- Coach the team on core architecture principles, platform design best practices, and governance operating models to drive full self-sufficiency within their internal teams.

Public Sector Context
- A strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM), ITIL aligned processes, and enterprise service delivery within a UK public sector environment.
ServiceNow Platform Mastery
- Deep, demonstrable expertise across ServiceNow architecture, data models, integrations, and best practice design patterns.
ATF Specialist
- Proven track record of planning, building, and delivering Automated Test Frameworks into Production environments.
Consultative Approach
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of translating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions alongside mentoring internal client teams.
Salary
£550.00 - £600.00 / day
