Sessional Tutor – Opportunity at Learn Hillingdon Adult Community Education

About the Role

An engaging opportunity has opened at Learn Hillingdon Adult Community Education to join our mission to advance from a Good to Outstanding Ofsted rating.

We are seeking energetic and dedicated professionals across multiple curriculum areas to deliver high-quality learning opportunities for:

  • Adults with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (ALDD)
  • British Sign Language (BSL)
  • Childcare
  • Counselling
  • Cookery and Nutrition
  • ESOL
  • English

  • Health and Social Care
  • Digital Skills and Cyber Security

Key Responsibilities

Play a pivotal role in supporting learners to gain essential skills, build confidence, achieve qualifications, and progress toward their personal, educational, and employment goals through:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging learning programmes
  • Assessing, monitoring, and supporting learner progress to meet learning outcomes and qualifications
  • Creating an inclusive, supportive, and safe learning environment
  • Maintaining accurate records, including learner registers, assessments, and course documentation
  • Promoting safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity, and inclusion
  • Contributing to quality assurance and continuous service improvement
  • Collaborating with colleagues, partners, and organisations to ensure an excellent learner experience
  • Keeping up-to-date with latest developments in subject areas, teaching practices, and awarding body requirements

About You

Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Passion for adult learning and a commitment to empowering learners.
  • Relevant subject expertise and qualifications.
  • A qualification in teaching, or a willingness to achieve one within an agreed timeframe.
  • Experience in delivering engaging learning and assessment.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and IT skills (including digital tools).
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • A positivie, flexible, and learner-focused mindset.
