We are looking for Sessional Youth Workers to join our enthusiastic & dedicated youth work team. You would be part of delivering Youth Clubs and Detached Based Youth Work for young people aged 8 - 19 years old across Blackburn (or up to 24 with additional needs).
As an Sessional Youth Worker you will provide support, information, and guidance to young people on issues that impact their lives. Engaging young people in a variety of activities and opportunities within their communities. Everything we do supports young people to develop their social and life skills and supporting their personal growth.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of an Sessional Youth Worker at Newground Together:
- Assist in the delivery of a range of youth activities and programs
- Engage with young people in a positive, supportive, and engaging manner
- Provide guidance, advice, and support to young people
- Help develop and maintain positive relationships with young people and their families
- Support the youth team in organising and supervising outings, trips, and events
- Contribute to the evaluation and monitoring of youth programs to ensure effectiveness and impact

Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a passion for working with young people and making a positive impact in their lives
- Is engaging, approachable, and able to build rapport with young people
- Has excellent communication and people skills
- Is patient, understanding, and able to provide guidance and support to young people
- Is able to work effectively as part of a team
- Wants to learn and understand issue that impact on young people's lives
Benefits
We are offering the candidate for the Sessional Youth Worker:
- Hourly Rate = £12.71 per hour from 1st April 2026
- Annual salary increment increases
- You will be covering the Shadsworth and Whitbirk area
- Full time equivalent 27 days holiday (rising to 32 over 5 years' service) + bank holidays. This will be calculated on a pro-rata basis
