Setting Out Engineer

Trant Engineering is a leading EPC contractor with a strong reputation for delivering innovative engineering solutions across the UK and internationally. With over 1,000 employees and a £150m turnover, we’re growing—and now looking for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to play a key role in our project delivery teams.
This role will initially be based at our clean water project in Midhurst, West Sussex, with Setting Out Engineer support responsibilities for our Site Manager. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop a broad skillset and advance your long-term career.
Responsibilities
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Setting out of civil engineering lines and levels.
- Quality assurance and administrative responsibilities.
- Promoting Health and Safety at all times.
- Conducting surveying tasks.
- Ensuring quality control requirements are met.
- Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
- Calculating quantities.
- Assisting in the production of Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Inspection and Test Plans.
- Compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements
Essential
- Hold a CSCS card.
- Provide evidence of practical experience in setting out on civil engineering projects.
- Demonstrate knowledge and hands-on use of robotic kit.
- Hold a Full UK driving license.
- Experience working to health, safety, quality and environmental standards on site.
Desirable
- Hold an HND/BEng in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Possess SSSTS / SMSTS qualifications.
- Have experience in deep drainage or pipework.
