Express Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with a leading UK civil engineering firm. Due to continued nationwide project expansion, our client is seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join their growing team.
In return, you will receive a competitive salary between £37,000 to £40,000 depending on experience. In addition, you will also receive a 6% employer pension contribution, 33 days holiday (including statutory days), sick pay scheme, fuel card, non-contractual annual bonus scheme (based on company performance) and various savings through salary sacrifice scheme. Due to the nature of the role, some overnight stays will be required on occasions. You receive a daily food allowance and fully expensed accommodation.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in setting out for piling or groundworks
- Proficient user of various surveying equipment desirable (e.g., GPS).
- Solid understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Holder of a CSCS card and relevant site certifications
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Foundation knowledge of AutoCAD
- Competent user of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel
- Holder of a UK Driving Licence essential

Roles & Responsibilities
- Set out for piling works including CFA, driven piles and precast concrete foundations
- Work independently from technical drawings produced in AutoCAD and specifications
- Ensure accurate positioning and alignment of piles and foundations
- Maintain detailed site records and quality assurance documentation
- Conduct site surveys and produce as-built drawings
- Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and standards are upheld on site at all times
- Travel to customer sites when required (including overnight stays for large projects)
