We have an exciting opportunity for Setting Out Engineers

Join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Setting out piles and beams on site including recording as build’s and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Setting out, levelling and surveying on site
  • Liaising between engineers and the construction team, to ensure plans and drawings are accurate
  • Supply reinforced concrete setting out support to construction team
  • Report site progress to engineering and survey department
  • Co-ordinating Pile/Beam layouts with site layout drawings
  • Planning and managing your own time to ensure all sites can be catered for
  • Conduct quality control checks and build records and provide site technical support
  • Assist in the supervising of subcontractors on site setting out
  • Check quantities for accuracy of calculations
  • Liaise with sub contractors, planners, quantity surveyors and general workforce
  • Attending regular site meetings and to keep client and contracts manager informed of progress made
  • Prepare reports and assist with day to day site management
  • Daily setting out and monitoring of the Contract works and Quality Assurance record keeping.
  • Ensuring that all the Works Requirements are undertaken in line with best practices and specified HSEQ initiatives
  • Any other tasks that you may reasonably be required to undertake.

Who We're Looking For

  • Knowledge of buildings, construction and reinforced concrete
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Competent in all Microsoft applications, especially office - Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Be able to understand and interpret data
  • Practical and logical; able to solve problems quickly
  • Be able to prioritise and organise own work effectively
  • Willingness to work flexibly to support the overall aims of the team and changing priorities
  • Previously worked as a Setting out Engineer, Site Engineer, or Engineering Surveyor, with sound knowledge in surveying and construction procedures
  • Numeracy and the ability to make mathematical calculations
  • Auto CAD Experience
  • Valid CSCS Card

Other Requirements:

  • Eligible to work and live in the UK.
  • Flexibility to travel and work in the UK.
  • A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK (desirable)

  • Hours of work are 7.30am - 6.00pm, Monday to Friday
