BYLOR is a joint venture between Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke, delivering the main civil engineering works for Hinkley Point C, one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects.

The Role
As a Site Engineer, you will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of construction activities across assigned work packages. Working within the engineering team, you will help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to agreed quality, cost, and programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review design information and raise technical queries where required.
- Support the preparation of method statements, risk assessments, and work package documentation.
- Monitor material usage and assist with procurement planning.
- Manage and maintain survey equipment and dimensional control processes.
- Interpret drawings and specifications, providing clear technical guidance to site teams.
- Maintain accurate engineering records, drawings, and quality documentation.
- Carry out inspections, testing activities, and quality checks.
- Identify and report non-conformances, supporting corrective actions.
- Complete as-built surveys and assist with project handover records.
- Promote safe working practices and a culture of continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working with reinforced concrete structures.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and process compliance.
- Experience using EDM/Total Station surveying equipment.
- Previous experience on major infrastructure or construction projects.

About Us
All positions with Bylor are employed directly with either Laing O'Rourke or Bouygues Travaux Public and include competitive salaries, private medical insurance, company pension schemes and annual holiday allowance. Some grades will also include a company car allowance.
Unless stated otherwise all positions are based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset.
Somerset boasts beautiful English countryside, an attractive coastline, interesting towns and villages along with easy access to the M5 and within proximity to the cities of Bristol and Exeter.
