Job Title: Sewing Operative
Do you have an interest or passion for sewing? We have an exciting opportunity for a Sewing Operative to join Johnstons of Elgin. If you have a passion for sewing and enjoy hands-on, detail-focused work, this role offers the chance to help create high-quality soft accessories for world-renowned luxury brands.
This is a temporary late shift position (34 hours per week), working Monday to Thursday from 1600 to 0100, and is currently expected to continue until mid-July 2027.
Rate of pay for this role is £13.45 per hour.
About the Role
As a Sewing Operative here at Johnstons of Elgin, you will be:
- Operating a variety of sewing machines to manufacture high-quality soft accessories
- Carrying out intricate hand sewing and cutting tasks
- Conducting quality inspections to ensure products meet required standards
- Working with a range of fabrics, patterns, and finishes
- Maintaining high levels of precision, consistency, and attention to detail
- Supporting production requirements by achieving agreed output levels
- Following production plans and quality standards associated with Johnstons of Elgin
- Undertaking other practical production tasks as required within the department
- Receiving full training and support to develop the skills required for the role
