Shared Services & Controls Analyst

Contract Type: Permanent Location: Dunstable (LU5), Hybrid working (3 days per week in office)

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive analyst to ensure strong controls across Banking, Treasury, Finance systems access, and Accounting & Control. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with external auditors on IT General Controls, conduct monthly control testing, and support a team focused on maintaining robust financial compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison for external auditors on IT General Controls.
  • Conduct monthly control testing and compile the monthly controls pack.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date control testing documentation and working papers.
  • Assist the Financial Control team in reviewing critical financial controls and understanding business processes.
  • Support quarterly Financial Control Framework (FCF) self-assessments.
  • Integrate internal controls into daily operations and manage ad-hoc projects as needed.
  • Contribute to fraud reviews while reinforcing preventive controls.

Requirements

  • Strong end-to-end financial process understanding.
  • Highly analytical with a structured, methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Highly organised, disciplined, and result-driven.
  • Comfortable challenging others while upholding professional relationships.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to engage with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Commercial experience and knowledge of end-to-end business processes.
  • Familiarity with financial systems and control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
  • Currently studying towards a finance qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA).
