Shared Services & Controls Analyst
Contract Type: Permanent Location: Hybrid, 3 days in-office
About the Role
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Shared Services & Controls Analyst to ensure strong controls across Banking, Treasury, Finance systems access, and Accounting & Control.
You’ll collaborate with external auditors on IT General Controls (ITGC), execute monthly control testing, and prepare clear reporting. This role also involves walking through controls, reviewing documentation, and supporting quarterly submissions, such as FCF (Financial Control Framework) and ITGC reports. As part of this function, you will be the key beneficiary of theěr analytical thinking and ability to follow up on control issues, ensuring compliance with policies and strong financial oversight.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors on IT General Controls (ITGC).
- Execute monthly control testing, completing them in line with deadlines and standard methodologies.
- Prepare and maintain control testing documentation and working papers with full examination accuracy.
- Support the Financial Control team by reviewing key financial controls and understanding operational processes.
- Assist in quarterly Financial Control Framework (FCF) self-assessments and ITGC submissions.
- Collaborate with internal colleagues to embed controls into daily operations, while also supporting ad-hoc projects.
- Contribute to fraud reviews and support activities that reinforce fraud prevention controls.
- Maintain clear communication with both technical and non-financial stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
