JOB PURPOSE
To provide robust, timely, and insightful Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) reporting through the effective governance of data, and the design, digitisation, and automation of SHE reporting processes. The role ensures confidence in SHE data integrity, enables data-driven decision-making, and significantly reduces manual effort through smart digital solutions and automation. Effective visualization/presentation and easier access to data will allow the business to better understand SHE performance and allow the business to focus on the right SHE priorities. This role acts as a subject-matter expert for SHE reporting systems, data quality, and analytics, partnering with functions on site and stakeholders in Personal Care Business Group and global SHE to continuously improve how SHE data is captured, validated, visualised, and used.
RESPONSIBILITIES
SHE Data Reporting, Notification & Governance
- Own the end-to-end SHE reporting for Safety and Environmental metrics, ensuring accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and audit-readiness
- Ensure compliance with Global SHE standards related to SHE reporting and notification including S6005 SHE Corporate & Data Reporting, S6007 Unilever Incident Classification Reporting and Metrics Standard, and S6006 SHE Incident Management & Notification Standard (and any new standards that may be developed in future)
- Act as the site focal point and expert in SHE reporting systems – currently SPR, EPR (soon EARTH), SHE Net, ensuring data reported in all applications is consistent
- Ensure all data inputs are collected, reviewed, and consolidated to ensure SHE data is reported on time and in full for – among other reports – weekly leadership scorecard review, monthly business performance reports (finance-led update), monthly safety and environmental performance reports, Variable Performance Awards (VPA) targets/metrics, bi-annual ESRS reports, quarterly waste data returns to the regulator, annual packaging waste data under Extended Producer Responsibility
- Ensure global SHE Hub is regularly reviewed and downward trends in site performance metrics highlighted for action
- Ensure global SHE “error checker” is regularly reviewed and any identified errors resolved as soon as possible
- Ensure notifications of high potential/serious/fatal incidents are submitted to stakeholders using SHE Incident Hub app as per S6006
- Lead quarterly and annual data validation cycles
- Use data to track and report on progress against targets on KPIs (e.g. TRFR, SEWO close-out, SSMA completion rate, %SBO discussed, energy/water/waste per tonne)
- Be the focal point during data assurance audits and any other audits in which SHE data is audited, and provide clarification on any data-related enquiries
Digitisation & Automation of SHE Processes
- Lead the digitisation of SHE reporting processes, replacing manual, spreadsheet-based activities with automated, scalable solutions
- Design and maintain automated data flows, dashboards, and alerts (e.g. Power BI, PowerApps, reporting hubs, notification tools) to reduce admin burden
- Use AI tools to reduce the need for manual validation of data reports, and allow intelligent identification of anomalies and discrepancies in data inputs
- Identify opportunities to streamline recurring SHE activities such as incident notifications, KPI tracking, overdue action monitoring, and assurance reporting
- Partner with Digital, IT, and SHE capability teams to implement new tools and support enhancements of existing reporting platforms by providing feedback
- Advise on improvements to site Integrated Management System to support robust reporting

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
What can I do?
If you become aware of potential recruitment fraud, spot fake Unilever recruitment adverts or fake LinkedIn profiles, report them via Una Live Chat. Unilever does not accept responsibility or liability for any candidates who are financially impacted by recruitment fraud. Your vigilance is key!
