At Hammersmith & Fulham, we are ambitious in reforming the council to ensure this is a place for everybody. Within the Economy department, we aim to be efficient in everything that we do. We believe our residents deserve a place that is safe, clean and green, with high quality services they can rely on.

This includes overseeing tenancy management, voids and lettings, antisocial behaviour management, home visits and wellbeing checks, and ensuring that the officers work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the right support is in place for our residents.

You will be responsible for overall budget management for neighbourhood and community services, analysing and advising on the financial impact of property management, delivering services within the budget envelop and producing periodic budget monitoring information.
You will make sure that we are getting the basics right, adopting a learning culture and working cross-team to deliver continuous service improvement. You will use business intelligence to transform and improve our service delivery, processes and procedures.
You will be responsible for making sure that your teams meet set KPIs, attend and embed relevant learning and development programmes and act in accordance with our values and competencies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
