Where will you be working?

At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.

We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.

This role will be within our Distribution and connections team. As one of the largest Independent Connection Providers (ICP’s) in the UK, we support distribution network operations across infrastructure.

Our team installs and maintains distribution networks and ensures reliable connections for customers. Carrying out electrical planned work, customer connections and network reinforcement.

What will you be doing?

  • You'll monitor direct employees and sub-contractors through site inspections and management audits.
  • You'll advise on specialist areas like risk assessments, fire safety, CDM regulations, hazardous substances, noise, and machinery.
  • Your expertise will help our operational and management teams maintain and develop our systems and practices.
  • You'll liaise with external bodies, including the Health and Safety Executive, clients, and other stakeholders, as directed by the SHEQ Manager. Supporting incident management and investigation processes will be a key part of your role.
  • You'll also present toolbox talks, team talks, and training materials on SHE issues. Delivering induction training to operatives and new starters will be part of your responsibilities.

What you’ll bring?

  • NEBOSH General or Construction certificate, with knowledge and experience of CDM Regulations.
  • Experience working on live substation sites.
  • Previous experience as a Safety Advisor in a construction environment (Utilities experience desirable).
  • Environmental Qualifications - desirable.
  • Consistently demonstrate high standards of safety behaviour, leading by example and promoting a positive safety culture with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Ability to manage potential conflict during site inspections with operational teams.
  • Capable of delivering confident articulate presentations with proficiency in using Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel - This role covers West Midlands and surrounding areas, with sites in Coventry, Cheltenham and Gloucester and additional sites to be added.
