Salary: Competitive plus company car
Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm, but the nature of the role may mean additional hours from time to time and flexibility to sometimes work to suit certain shift patterns

At Grundon, we are seeking a dynamic, passionate and driven SHEQ Advisor to join our team at our Head Office in Benson.

Reporting into the Head of SHEQ the SHEQ Advisor will play a pivotal role in supporting the organisation’s commitment to Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality excellence. The successful candidate will provide practical guidance and support to managers, helping to ensure robust procedures and systems are in place to meet legislative requirements, industry best practice, and external standards.
Due to the nature of the role you may occasionally be required to work additional hours, and a flexible approach will be needed to support varying shift patterns when required.
What will you do
- Provide proactive SHEQ support, advice and practical guidance across the business.
- From support of the Head of SHEQ Translate legislation and guidance into clear, workable procedures and management system documentation.
- Monitor and review health & safety legislation and guidance, sharing key updates across the SHEQ team and wider business.
- Ensure consistent application of SHEQ policies and procedures, working closely with the wider SHEQ team.
- Champion a positive health & safety culture across all sites and levels of the organisation.
- Conduct regular site visits, inspections and audits to identify risks and support effective control measures.
- Lead and support accident and incident investigations, including reporting and practical recommendations.
- Contribute to SHEQ communications, including toolbox talks, safety alerts and monthly performance dashboards.
- Support and promote safety initiatives, including organising and facilitating Safety Champion meetings to drive engagement and share best practice across the business.
- Support manual handling programmes, including POPs training and TRACA monitoring.
- Deliver and support SHEQ training across the business, including inductions and mandatory courses.
- Produce engaging content for internal communications, including Safety Matters articles.
- Collate and interpret SHEQ data and statistics for reporting purposes.
- Maintain your professional development through ongoing CPD and competence.

About You
- Recognised auditor and training qualification, supported by a NEBOSH Safety & Environmental Certificate (or equivalent).
- A minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in a similar SHEQ role.
- Proven experience in accident and incident investigation, including clear report writing and analysis.
- Strong experience auditing against ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 50001 standards.
- Ability to design and deliver engaging health and safety training to a range of audiences.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.
- Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
