SHEQ Advisor West
SHEQ Advisor – New Role at Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd
We're looking for a proactive and passionate SHEQ Advisor to support our operational teams in delivering the highest standards of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) across our projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SHEQ professional who enjoys working on site, building strong relationships, and making a real difference to how people work.
About the Role
As a SHEQ Advisor, you will:
- Provide expert support and guidance to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, client, and company requirements.
- Work closely with operational teams and the SHEQ Lead to drive a positive safety culture, promote continuous improvement, and ensure projects are delivered safely, responsibly, and to the highest quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting site audits and inspections.
- Supporting incident investigations.
- Reviewing risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Delivering inductions and toolbox talks.
- Producing SHEQ reports.
- Supporting the ongoing development of management systems.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to identify SHEQ improvements.

About CBUL
Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd (CBUL) is a special purpose joint venture established to deliver wastewater network maintenance and repair services for Southern Water across the South of England. Our focus is on keeping sewer networks operating efficiently through:
- Planned maintenance.
- Emergency response.
- Rehabilitation works.
We rely on a substantial fleet of specialist vehicles, including:
- Vacuum tankers
- Jetting units
- CCTV survey equipment
- Advanced technological diagnostics for rapid solutions.
With a reputation for safety, reliability, and technical expertise, we play a critical role in protecting communities and maintaining essential infrastructure.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll need to be a confident, approachable, and influential SHEQ professional who can engage teams at all levels.

Essential Requirements
- NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
- Experience in utilities, construction, or civil engineering.
- Strong knowledge of SHEQ legislation, standards, and industry best practice.
- Experience in audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to operational sites.
Desirable
- ISO Internal Auditor qualification or training.
- Experience in integrated management systems.
- Experience with drug & alcohol testing (or willingness to train).
