NMS Recruit is recruiting an experienced SHEQ professional on behalf of our client, a well-established and rapidly growing telecommunications infrastructure specialist trusted to deliver major network build projects across the UK.

As a key partner to leading telecoms providers, they offer a full turnkey service, from initial survey and design through to construction, testing, and project delivery. With a strong pipeline of work and an excellent industry reputation, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business at the forefront of the UK's fibre and digital infrastructure rollout.

This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact within a growing organisation, helping to drive safety, quality, environmental, and compliance standards across a diverse portfolio of telecoms infrastructure projects.

Role

NMS Recruit are seeking a proactive and experienced SHEQ professional to lead and develop the company's Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality function. This is a pivotal role where you'll have the autonomy to create, implement and continuously improve the SHEQ strategy, ensuring compliance, driving best practice and fostering a strong safety culture across the business.

You'll be responsible for developing and owning the SHEQ management plan, conducting site audits, overseeing document control and compliance processes, and providing expert guidance to operational teams across the UK. This is a genuine opportunity to take ownership of the function, influence business-wide standards, and play a key role in shaping its future direction.

The role is primarily office-based, with regular travel to sites required.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a SHEQ/HSEQ role within the telecommunications industry
  • Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations and associated compliance requirements
  • Experience preparing and reviewing RAMS
  • Site safety management experience across telecoms and infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of civils, excavations and streetworks activities
  • Understanding of rigging, working at height and RF safety requirements
  • Experience overseeing lifting operations
  • Knowledge of electrical works and associated safety standards
  • Familiarity with DNO power connections and fibre/comms transmission projects
  • NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent SHEQ qualification
  • Strong communication, auditing and stakeholder management skills
