Shift Building Maintenance Assistant – Southmead Hospital, Bristol
About the Role
Equans is currently offering an exciting opportunity for a Shift Building Maintenance Assistant to join their facilities team at Southmead Hospital in Bristol in a permanent, full-time shift-based capacity. This role operates on a 4-on-4-off schedule, averaging 38.5 hours per week, covering shifts from 07:00 to 19:00 (days) and 19:00 to 07:00 (nights).

Responsibilities
You will report to the Operations Manager and be responsible for:
- Conducting maintenance of the building, including:
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
- Reactive maintenance
- New installation tasks
- Ordering and managing materials/services using the company’s ordering system, with responsibility for:
- Certifying satisfactory delivery and completion
- Overseeing specialist contractors
- Utilising appropriate trade skills as directed by the PPM schedule and management
Working Schedule – 4 on, 4 off (38.5 hrs/week), days and nights, with shifts from 07:00–19:00 and 19:00–07:00
Key Requirements
- Experience in M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) building services is required
- Willingness to cross-skill and undertake training
- Strong general handyperson skills
- Strong IT habilidades and competency
- Flexibility, strong customer service skills, and effective communication
- Familiarity with Health and Safety procedures (formal training is advantageous)
