The Braunstone Sonoco Plant is one of the largest food can-manufacturing Plants in Europe producing cans from 3 high-speed production lines that operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A vacancy has arisen for a Shift Electrician to join our Shift based team. The shift pattern we operate is a continental shift pattern of 2 x 12 hour days followed by 2 x 12 hour nights with extended breaks built in (average 37.5 hours per week) – working a total of 144 shifts per year, with some optional overtime available. We are looking for individuals with electrical maintenance experience in a demanding high speed production FMGC environment, with good analytical, reporting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

As a Shift Electrician you will be responsible for providing breakdown support across all production lines and service functions. You should have the ability to:

find resolutions to issues using effective fault-finding techniques complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities detail accurate record keeping carry out all quality checks/inspections ensuring that they are recorded/completed to company standards assist with health and safety within the Plant possess excellent housekeeping disciplines ensure that a safe method of work is adopted wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times

In order for successful candidates to effectively perform in this role you will be a qualified/Time served Electrical Apprenticeship holding NVQ L3/City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications in Electrical Engineering, have experience of 3-phase drives and controls, possess fault finding and diagnostics skills, be BS7671 18th Edition qualified, have a good understanding of PLC/LADDER and have proven knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations and of Safe Working Practices including Lock Off and Tag Out.

In Addition. It Would Be Advantageous If You

were HNC qualified, have experience of Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLC – ideally in high speed production environment, hold the BS2391 Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations qualification. Have completed a Level 3 Qualification in the Requirements for electrical installations. possess proven working knowledge of AutoCAD and the creation and modification of Electrical and Mechanical drawings. Any project experience would also be useful.
