Shift Engineer

Shift Engineer – The Chancery, Rosewood

Beautiful. Relaxed. Not impossible.

The Chancery, part of the prestigious Rosewood Hotel Group, is redefining luxury in Mayfair. Nestled in the former US Embassy and reimagined by Sir David Chipperfield, this stunning property features 144 suites designed by Joseph Dirand, alongside dynamic dining, bars, and settings carefully curated for exceptional guest experiences.

We’re looking for a Shift Engineer—someone who thrives on precision, problem-solving, and collaboration to keep every detail flawless. This cross-disciplinary role ensures seamless operations across guest suites and back-of-house systems, where every action contributes to a world-class experience.

If you take pride in technical excellence, relish high-pressure scenarios, and believe every detail matters, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery & Maintenance

  • Respond urgently and professionally to maintenance requests to ensure guest comfort and operational continuity.
  • Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across guest rooms, public spaces, and plant systems—exemplifying the hotel’s high standards.
  • Cover multiple disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance, with a keen eye for execution.
  • Monitor and maintain fire alarm and life safety systems, addressing any incidents with swift, well-informed action.
  • Foster strong collaboration with all hotel departments to resolve engineering challenges efficiently.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
