Shift Engineer
Electro-Mechanical Engineer – Warehouse Environment
About the Role
Our Engineers must demonstrate proven experience in resolving electro-mechanical faults and performing preventative maintenance within a warehouse setting. Reporting to Site Leadership, this role demands a safety-conscious approach with a track record of owning problems and driving them to successful resolutions.
Responsibilities
Technical & Operational Duties
- Conduct mechanical strip-down/re-assembly, basic field wiring, machine calibration, and system testing
- Maintain Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to a high standard on a daily basis
- Ensure CMMS time management to exceed 90% utilisation rates
- Continuously improve new and existing equipment while upholding strict health and safety protocols
- Complete reactive repairs within tight deadlines
- Collaborate with on-site management, providing transparent updates on repair and maintenance progress and addressing their concerns professionally
- Service and repair installed products by taking hands-on ownership of issues to achieve rapid resolutions

Core Competencies
- Interpret electrical circuit diagrams and work safely with up to 415V circuits
- Conduct risk assessments and promote a strong safety culture, meeting current H&S standards
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude, including the ability to read assembly drawings
- Operate hand tools and assemble parts onto equipment
- Follow setup instructions, assembly drawings, and checklists with precision
- Exhibit exceptional attention to detail and strong follow-up skills
- Remain willing to learn and adapt to evolving role requirements
- Foster culture diversity appreciation
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers
- Provide expertise in bus systems and diagnostics

Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential Requirements
- NVQ/BTEC/C&G Level 3 qualification in Electro-Mechanical Engineering
- Basic PLC understanding and operational knowledge
- Beneficial experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and engineering stores
Desirable Qualifications
- HNC/HND/NVQ Level 5 equivalent
