Location: Grimsby
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (Days / Nights)
Hours: 06:00 – 18:00 / 18:00 – 06:00

Are you a hands-on engineer with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement? Do you thrive in a fast-paced FMCG environment and want to be part of a team that values collaboration, innovation, and pride in their work?

This is your opportunity to make a real impact! We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Shift Engineer to join our operations team at our Grimsby site. You’ll be playing a crucial role in maintaining the performance of production equipment and ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient manufacturing processes.

What You’ll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)

  • Rapidly respond to breakdowns and carry out planned maintenance tasks.
  • Investigate root causes of failures and develop effective action plans.
  • Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Deliver training and support to production teams for minor maintenance.
  • Collaborate across departments (Production, Technical, NPD, etc.).
  • Promote a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
  • Drive performance by minimising downtime and ensuring optimum plant availability.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all maintenance and engineering tasks.
  • Participate in maintenance projects, upgrades, and service improvements.
  • Demonstrate efficient machine operation and support operator training.

What You’ll Need (Skills & Experience)

  • Relevant Engineering qualifications – Electrical or Mechanical disciplines.
  • FMCG industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Confident with PLC fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Familiar with HACCP and Health & Safety practices.
  • Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office proficiency essential.
  • Great communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Self-motivated, hands-on, and solutions-focused.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to travel to other sites or suppliers if required.
