Do you want to work for a leading food manufacturer that is going through a lot of progressive growth with the UK's supermarkets? Due to expansion within the team, they are looking for shift engineers to join.

Role and Responsibilities of a Shift Engineer

  • Carry out planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance of all high-speed production and packaging machinery
  • Working on control panels, HMIs, PLCs, SCADA Systems
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding, problem solving and repairs
  • Continuous improvement projects
  • Dealing with motors, VSDs, servo drives, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, inverters
  • Mechanical fabrication, fitting, welding

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Need to be a Shift Engineer

  • Multi-skilled engineer: ideally electrically biased
  • NVQ Level 3 engineering or maintenance minimum
  • Ideally HNC/HND qualified: time-served apprenticeship
  • Must have worked in some form of fast-paced/Food/FMCG manufacturing industry
  • Strong electrical and mechanical problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of PLCs, automation and control systems, HMIs
  • Worked on motors, inverters, VSDs, sensors, switches, pneumatics, gearboxes
