Role Overview
This role sits within a state-of-the-art site where you will be operating with high care within a food production environment. You will predominantly be working as a front-line engineer (covering both mechanical and electrical requirements) to maintain and support installed assets across the cheese and whey production areas within the site working closely with the team leader.
Your responsibilities will cover both reactive and proactive engineering tasks, with an opportunity to add-value through the identification and delivery of continuous improvement opportunities.
Work Pattern
3-on/3-off (days and nights)
Key Contributions
- Delivering a range of preventative maintenance schedules and reactive engineering requirements
- Working with a range of machinery and instrumentation, including pumps, motors, valves, agitators, etc.
- Working with other engineering teams and production staff to plan and execute work
- Ensuring work is recorded and tracked via the maintenance system
- Supporting other areas and gaining broader experience of site operations
- Prioritising workload, ensuring awareness of production timescales
- Identifying continuous improvement opportunities

Requirements
- A time-served apprenticeship, NVQ, or HNC/HND qualification
- Able to demonstrate multi-skilled engineering capabilities
- Someone who enjoys taking a hands-on approach to engineering, working both in and outdoors
- Able to demonstrate knowledge and/or experience working within a production environment (FMCG preferred)
- Able to work in a team, supporting others with their workload and development when required
- Comfortable working with different computer systems
