Shift Engineer
Shift Engineer (Electrical Biased)
Location: Slough
Salary: GBP52,000
Hours: 12hr Shifts : 4-on 4-off (Days and Nights)
Our client is an industrial processing business part of a larger group, with multiple sites across the UK. They require an experienced electrical biased shift engineer to join their growing engineering team.
Role and Responsibilities

Perform planned preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance, including repairs, refurbishment, installation, and upgrades to:
- Plant and automated production/packaging machinery
- Site services
- Steam and boiler systems

Execute PPM schedules efficiently and effectively

Conduct electrical fault finding and modifications:
- PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and control panels
- Hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, contactors, inverters, sensors, drives, and valves

Engage in mechanical repair and fault finding

- Troubleshoot and rectify electrical-sector problems, including PLC-focused issues
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required
- Multi-skilled engineer with an electrical bias preferred
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or relevant time-served apprenticeship)
- Strong problem-solving and fault diagnosis skills
- Proven industry experience in production environments, with a focus on continuous improvement
- Prioritise a combination of electrical and mechanical fault-finding/repair capabilities
- Preference for candidates with experience in fast-paced, FMCG (Food & Beverage) manufacturing/production environments
- Advantageous experience with boilers and steam systems
- Hands-on knowledge of PLC systems, control panels, HMIs, and SCADA systems
- Bonus if familiar with 17th/18th Edition wiring regulations
