As a Shift Engineer, you'll play a vital role in maintaining our hotel to the highest standards. From carrying out planned maintenance and responding to repairs, to identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and prevent issues before they arise, you'll help create an environment where both our guests and teams can thrive.

No two shifts are the same. One moment you might be resolving a maintenance issue in a guest room, and the next supporting a larger engineering project across the hotel. You'll approach every task with a positive, solutions-focused mindset, taking pride in delivering a safe, well-maintained and welcoming environment.

We're looking for someone who is hands-on, reliable and enjoys working as part of a team. You'll have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm and professional when priorities change. Above all, you'll be passionate about delivering high standards and helping create exceptional experiences for our guests every day.

What You Will Do In This Splendid Role

When working as an Engineer you will be working as part of the maintenance team ensuring that you respond promptly and safely to all situations. You will also:

  • Perform all routine preventative and curative maintenance
  • Operate, maintain and repair a variety of different equipment within the hotel
  • Work in a safe manner
  • Keep adequate level of supplies required for hotel maintenance
  • Keep a high standard of workmanship in all tasks carried out
  • Liaise with CE and ACE daily carrying out stator test and inspections and monitor daily usage
  • Respond to all guest requests as they arise and report back for guest follow up and engagement
  • Work with outside contractors as necessary to assist them in performing maintenance or construction jobs

About Hilton - London Bankside

Located in Bankside, London’s cultural quarter, Hilton Bankside is a multi-award winning, next generation, design-led hotel. In 2024 it earned the prestigious Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) certification and is one of only two hotels to achieve this milestone in the UK for its dedication to environmental sustainability.
