Salary: £55,895.84 per annum + London Weighting Allowance
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off, rotating 2 days and 2 nights
A quick look at the role
We're looking for a hands on Shift Engineering Supervisor to lead and support a team of multi skilled technicians at our busy Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Edmonton.
You'll be responsible for driving plant performance, reducing downtime, prioritising engineering activity, and ensuring maintenance work is completed safely and efficiently. This is a key leadership role where you'll lead by example, develop your team, and help deliver high engineering and operational standards across site.

Lead and supervise a shift team of engineers and contractors to maximise plant performance and uptime. Prioritise planned and reactive maintenance activities to support operational requirements. Carry out fault finding, diagnostics and repairs across plant and machinery. Deliver preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise downtime. Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and implement long term corrective actions. Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve reliability and engineering efficiency. Ensure all engineering activities are carried out safely and in line with company procedures. Support and develop engineering team capability and skill progression. Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS system. Ensure high standards of housekeeping, engineering practice and communication through effective shift handovers and reporting.

Our Essential Requirements
HNC qualified in Mechanical or Plant Engineering. Previous experience supervising engineering teams within an industrial, manufacturing or processing environment. Strong fault finding and problem solving ability. Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and welding. Ability to prioritise workloads and perform well in a fast paced operational environment.
Previous experience in the following roles will also be considered:
Engineering Team Leader, Maintenance Team Leader, Shift Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering Operations Supervisor, Lead Shift Engineer, Engineering Chargehand, Senior Maintenance Engineer, Engineering Shift Lead, Site Engineering Supervisor or Maintenance Shift Lead.
