Shift Lead – Fill Operation (London, Retail Store)

Work Pattern

Week 1

  • Monday: 11:30–19:30
  • Wednesday: 06:00–14:00
  • Thursday: 06:00–14:00
  • Friday: 08:00–16:00
  • Saturday: 06:00–14:00

Week 2

  • Sunday: 10:00–18:00
  • Tuesday: 08:00–16:00
  • Wednesday: 06:00–14:00
  • Thursday: 06:00–14:00
  • Friday: 11:30–19:30

Purpose of the Shift Lead Role

As a Shift Lead, you will:

  • Lead the fill operation, ensuring the sales floor is fully prepared for trade.
  • Take operational responsibility for coordinating resources to Serve, Sell, and Fill during the operational window.
  • Act as a floormanager in the absence of the Colleague Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate resources to enhance efficiency and productivity during the fill operation, including during shift overlaps.
  • Lead the fill team, coaching colleagues on One Best Way processes and driving productivity ahead of store opening.
  • Allocate team resources to deliver a quick and efficient payment experience.
  • Streamline daily operational processes to ensure they execute effectively in designated areas across the store.
  • Oversee store presentation, ensuring the store remains clean, safe, and visually appealing.
  • Foster an inclusive and positive team atmosphere, promoting collaboration and morale.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service as a role model for colleagues.
  • Uphold M&S behaviours and Colleague Expectations across the store, guiding others to perfection.
  • Support Colleague Managers by providing observational feedback to recognise high performance.
  • Maintain flexibility to assist nearby stores when needed.
  • Serve as a keyholder, ensuring the opening and closing procedures of the store are completed accurately, including:
    • Vehicle receipts
    • Temperature checks and security protocols
    • Reporting operational issues to relevant helpdesks
    • Cash handling compliance
    • Adherence to TSL (Transport and Storage Logistics) regulations where applicable
