Team Support Manager

Work Pattern

  • Monday: 05:00–13:00
  • Tuesday: 05:00–13:00
  • Wednesday: 15:00–23:00
  • Thursday: 15:00–23:00
  • Friday: 15:00–23:00

Note on premium pay: An extra £3.00 per hour (unsocial premium) applies to hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00.

Purpose of the Role

The Team Support Manager leads the fill operation, ensuring:

  • A salesfloor ready for trading
  • Operational coordination for Serve, Sell, Fill
  • Coverage for the Colleague Manager when they are absent

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Coordinate resources efficiently during the fill operation and across the Colleague Manager’s absence
  • Lead fill operations while educating teams on ‘One Best Way’, enhancing productivity for store openings

Customer & Customer Service Excellence

  • Role model exceptional customer service
  • Demonstrate M&S behaviours and Colleague Expectations company-wide
  • Drive a clean, safe, and visually appealing store presentation

Financial & Logistical Accountability

  • Ensure quick payment experiences by optimising team allocation
  • Manage financial processes, including cash handling, and ensure TSL (includingfel/legal) compliance for early/late hours
  • Oversee receipt of delivery vehicles and manage operational issue logging in peripheral hours

  • Act as a mentor, coaching colleagues to meet store performance targets
  • Promote an inclusive, positive team environment through active participation
  • Support nearby stores during high-pressure situations or absences
  • Alert the Colleague Manager to employees’ (teammembers’) behaviours to foster development and progress

Security & Accountability

  • Become a keyholder with on-call availability for emergency callouts
