Lead high-performing teams, drive operational excellence, and deliver quality every shift.

The Role

Our new Shift Leader will play a pivotal role in leading production, packing and distribution operations within a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment. Responsible for delivering production targets, maintaining exceptional food safety and quality standards, and creating a positive, engaged team culture, this role is key to ensuring operational success across the shift.

Working closely with senior leadership, technical, engineering, HR and HSE teams, you'll use data, continuous improvement methodologies and strong people leadership skills to achieve performance goals while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and compliance.

This is a rotating shift pattern:

  • Week 1 - 0600-1400
  • Week 2 - 1400-2200

Your Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading and developing production teams to deliver daily operational and production targets.
  • Promoting a positive health, safety and environmental culture through visible leadership and proactive risk management.
  • Ensuring food safety, hygiene and quality standards are consistently achieved across the shift.
  • Monitoring and improving key performance indicators, driving accountability and performance.
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity and cost performance.
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing team members to build capability and succession plans.
  • Working collaboratively with Technical, Engineering, HR and Learning & Development teams to achieve site objectives.
  • Supporting audit readiness and maintaining compliance with customer, legal and internal standards.

The Ideal Candidate

An experienced Shift Leader with solid experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experienced within FMCG manufacturing, ideally with exposure to short shelf-life products.
  • Knowledgeable in food safety, hygiene (level 3) and HACCP principles.
  • Skilled in people management, coaching and team development.
  • Comfortable managing performance, priorities and operational challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experienced in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma or similar.
  • A confident communicator who can build strong relationships across departments.
  • Results-focused with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
