Pret-a-Manger – Shift Leader
If you have experience managing people, are available to work every day of the week, and are a hard worker, this opportunity might be for you!
We’re looking for a tboughtful, resilient multitasking team leader who can prepare food and deliver exceptional customer service with drive. We’ll provide full training and support.
About the Role
Salary: £13.60 per hour + *£1.25 additional bonus following the probation period Note: Terms and conditions apply.

Responsibilities
As part of The Right Pret People, your key areas of responsibility will include:
1. Leading the Team
- Support and coach team members to help them reach their potential in both the shop and kitchen.
- Supervise training success, ensuring plans remain on track and deadlines are met.
- ** Lead by example**—be hands-on when necessary to set high standards.
- Assign tasks based on individual strengths, experience, and productivity rates.
2. coaching team performance
- Offer regular and constructive feedback, encouraging team members.
- Identify trends in productivity and communicate them to management.

3. AMAZING SERVICE
- Lead Speed of Service principles to deliver quick, accurate orders.
- Ensure the team follows the 6 Key Points of Service consistently.
- Implement the MBWA (Managing by Walking Around) principles to monitor standards.
- Empower staff to deliver engaging Joy of Pret experiences and promote the 3Bs – Be Kind, Be Honest, Be Generous.
- Manage Coffee Calling System for smooth communication and order efficiency.
- Handle Marketplace orders accurately and efficiently.
4. DELICIOUS FOOD & DRINK
- Maintain high standards through the 6 Key Production Principles.
- Follow the 11-Step Production Process to ensure food safety, quality, and accurate labeling.
- Demo the "Production Principles”, prioritizing customer delight and consistency.
- Encourage staff training on food/cocktail knowledge via How-to Cards.
- Conduct regular line checks and address quality concerns promptly.
- Aware of Made to Sell (MTS) rejects—ensure they don’t appear in Langars.
- Ensure barista-prepared drinks exceed standards.
5. WELL-LOVED SHOP
- Enforce strict food-safety, health & safety standards.
- Complete equipment checks and corrective actions immediately.
- Maintain high standards for hygiene and cleanliness across the store.
- Walk around to monitor customer impressions—get “on your hands and knees” if needed.
- Ensuring that food and drinks meet Pret-approved standards and don’t compromise quality or freshness.

6. SHOP PROFITABILITY
- Maximize sales via forecasting, rota management, exact ordering and production (Big 4 Strategy).
- Ensure Mystery-shopper scores are met or exceeded.
- Manage stock efficiently by following the 7 Steps of Managing Unaccounted Items.
- Follow financial and merchandising standards to minimize waste and ensure safety.
- Drive sales through promotions, marketing events andッカー
7. GROWING SALES
- Support new product launches with full engagement.
- Facilitate travel between kitchen and front of house to ensure smooth workflows and services.
- Identify, manage and recommend adjustments via “Growing Sales” tactics.
