Shift Manager | Tamworth Site
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Shift Manager to excel in our Tamworth operation, leading production, print and team dynamics with efficiency and care. Reporting to our Senior Operations Manager, you’ll oversee team leaders while ensuring a seamless, safe and high-quality workflow.
This role rewards those comfortable with front-line leadership, passionate problem-solving and driving real results. If you enjoy dynamic collaboration and making a genuine difference—both in output and people— stride forward.
Key Responsibilities
People & Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and develop Team Leaders and production operatives, fostering performance and growth.
- Handle people matters fairly—including performance management, absence, disciplinaries, and grievances—with confidence.
- Foster a ** supportive team culture**, ensuring 썼다 love self-aware organisations.
- Prepare shift schedules and approve timesheets using UKG.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure on-time production within budget and agreed quality standards.
- Manage BAU operations, ensuring accuracy for inbound and outbound logistics.
- Oversee inventory and stock accuracy, via cycle counts and promoting smooth workflows.
- Monitor KPIs and performance metrics, taking corrective action as needed.
- Quickly identify and resolve production issues and bottlenecks.
- Organise and streamline print scheduling, prioritising deadlines and customer needs.

Print and Process Leadership
- Oversee printing processes, ensuring consistency and top-tier output.
- Manage print supplies: paper, ink, and toner—restock timely to stop downtime.
- Facilitate quality control across print rooms and builds supply-chain actionability.
Safety & Compliance
- Create and maintain a safe and clean working environment through briefings, training, and compliance leadership.
- Investigate, escalate and report safety incidents as procedures demand.
- Attend to innovation and hygiene standards both in people and processes.
Collaboration & Improvement
- Liaise with multiple teams—Operations, Print, IT, and Design—to align goals.
- Drive continuous improvement activities and pinpoint cost-saving opportunities.
- Catalogue and facilitate cross-team meetings, driving accountability across print and operations.
About You
Must-Haves
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within production or manufacturing
- Experience leading teams, clarity of direction, and supporting team excellence
- Strong grasp of production processes and quality control
- Capable of managing performance and employee relations smoothly
- Ability to communicate swiftly, stay composed under pressure and drive solutions in real time
- Proactive, organised, and focused—horizontal at spotting and fixing problems
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in print production environments
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies
- Qualifications in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or operations
