Shift Manager

About the Role

As one of the Best Big Companies to Work For, we have a rich history of loving our customers and looking after our teams. We understand that success is achieved through our people, and we are searching for a committed and passionate Shift Manager to join our growing business.

You will be recruited as a Retail Assistant and receive a £2 supplement for every hour that you shift manage the store.

Responsibilities

Maximise Profit

  • Have a clear focus on delivering great availability for your customers.
  • Play an active role in your store to “sell a £1 & save a £1” to help drive sales.
  • Deliver all agreed actions set by your line manager.

Engage, Develop & Retain Great People

  • Proactively support and work with the Talking Shop Rep in your store.
  • Support team engagement in your store.
  • Play a part in creating an inclusive culture where everyone can be their best.
  • Take a proactive approach to personal development and share knowledge to upskill the team.

  • Complete actions from your line manager after daily floor walks, focusing on what the customer sees.
  • Exhibit a positive approach to service, both in-store and at the doorstep, aiming to be the best place to shop.
  • Follow and implement all cash handling and security policies & processes.
  • Implement One Best Way processes to provide the best digital service.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a retail management or supervisory role.
  • Effective communication with colleagues to deliver store tasks first time, every time.
  • Ability to plan and organise shifts while using the entire team’s potential.
  • Provides balanced feedback to improve colleague performance.
  • Sets a strong shift pace by being hands-on and ensuring a great store experience.
